Being pregnant does not mean that you’ll be confined to your house throughout the pregnancy. You can go out and have fun, even travel. Travelling while pregnant is not a no-no but some careful planning should  be done. The following are some tips in order for you to enjoy travelling while you are pregant:

  • Consult your doctor before planning a trip. This is to minimize complications if any. You should not travel unless you have your doctor’s consent. Don’t forget all your supplements and/or medicines.
  • Keep your cool during long waits, flight delays, queues and other travelling hassles. You need to keep clam and a walkman, cd player or any music player can help you to relax.
  • Food is a major problem when travelling. Always bring some snacks so that you do not have to wait to get to the closest restaurant.
  • Make sure that you drink enough liquid to prevent dehydration.
  • You must rest if you are feeling tried or unwell.
  • Eat several light meals/snacks to avoid nausea. Mint and lemon drops also helps to relieve nausea.
  • Keep your feet up to avoid swelling. Walk around the aisle to keep your blood circulating.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. There’s no sense in compromising youe comfort.
  • Don’t forget to enjoy your trip!
