Even if we live in a new house with all the latest things done to protect our children, from the paint used on the walls to the paint used on their toys, are our children really safe from lead poisoning? Lead poisoning consciousness has been fading in and out of the public’s attention. With all the advanced technology used in products that are used on and for children, we can’t help but ask, are our children really safe from lead poisoning?

Parents often think that if we are around and keeping an eye on our young ones, everything will be okay and that they are not in danger of anything. But we don’t take into consideration that accidents happen quickly and without warning, even if the child is in our plain sight. Mistakes are the best teachers and it will almost always drive the message home that we should be extra careful. We often think that nothing happened i the past and so we let our guard down and then, the unthinkable happened. The following are some of our habits that we think are safe.

By the time that your baby starts to crawl, use a walker and explore his surrounding, your best friend is the safety gates. This will prevent your baby from potential hazards because let’s face it, we can’t always give our baby our 100% attention. Safety gates can be installed at the top and bottom of the stairs, in between rooms and even outdoors. In buying safety gates, there are things to be considered before you rush to your nearest home depot store.

One of the most effective ways to stimulate your baby’s mind even while his is still in the womb is by talking to him. Studies have already confirmed that a baby inside the womb can already hear sounds from the outside world as early as four months to which he can recognize the sound after he is born. Talking to your baby is very important and most parents love to have a face-to-face conversation with their babies. When you have a face-to-face conversation with your baby, your baby will gaze into your eyes and coo and gurgle in response to what you are saying. It is intimate and most of all, fun.
