Helping Your Child Reach His Full Potential

The responsibility of leading a child to reach his full potential rests on the parent’s shoulders. The thought of not giving your child enough support so that he can fully enhance his potential will often surface to parent’s consciousness. This thought becomes even more pronounced when your child will reach school age. The task of choosing the right school for your child will become more difficult because parents will want their chosen school to be able to mold their child to harness their full potential.

There are some guidelines in helping you choose the right school for your child. These are academic formation, human formation, spiritual formation and apostolic formation. In providing academic formation, a school must have an exciting and interactive curriculum. Students are encouraged to use their logic and reasoning skills in order for true learning to take place. The human formation involves the child’s will, passions and principles that make up the child’s character. The chosen school must provide students with a chance to exercise respect, truthfulness and responsibility. By spiritual formation, the school must encourage the child to think that God is their best friend and that they will have fulfillment and happiness if they live in the faith. Apostolic formation is the human development where every person will put the focus not only on himself but on other people as well.

With the focus on these four aspects of learning, your child will have the chance to harness his full potential. But in the end, parents must take note that in harnessing your child’s full potential, you and the school must do the task hand in hand.
