Baby Skin Care 101

Baby’s skin is different from adult skin in the sense that baby’s skin is more delicate and sensitive that adult skin that is why parents have to take extra care of their little ones’ skin. The following are some tips and guide on how to take good care of your baby’s skin:
- Choose products that are developed for babies
Baby products need to be mild and gentle. Do not share your beauty products with your baby because your skin has very different needs than those of your baby’s. - Avoid heavily scented baby care products
Sensitive skin needs fragrance-free products. Scented, especially those that are heavily scented ones will irritate your baby’s skin. - Select hair care products that are “no tears” formula
Tears are our eyes’ way of getting rid of eye irritants. If the shampoo that you are using is making your baby tear up during bath time then your shampoo is too harsh. - Protect skin with natural minerals
Baby’s skin needs extra protection since they are still developing. Natural minerals are clinically proven to strengthen the skin’s natural protection barrier to increase his skin’s resistance to skin irritations and other skin problems. - Body wash products should have a baby skin-friendly pH
Our skin’s pH level is a natural protection. Choose body wash products that are specially harmonized with baby skin and its pH value so it maintains the skin’s protective barrier even with daily bathing. - Moisturize
Baby’s skin has less oil and moisture that adult skin and their skin can not compensate fast enough for moisture loss through the skin especially in a hot and dry climate. It will be very beneficial for your baby to moisturize his skin but take care to use products that are baby friendly. - Touch therapy
Give your baby touch therapy. Aside from it being a great way to bond with your baby, it also promotes blood circulation and stimulates digestion and strengthens the immune system.
